The facts

The complainant alleged that his neighbour had installed CCTV cameras directed towards his house and yard, fitted with LED lights that caused disturbance, without his consent. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit at the respondent's premises. The Police reported that the matter had already been settled and the complainant did not want to pursue the complaint, enclosing the site visit report.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties. The published summary carries no monetary order.
