Summary

The complainant alleged that a neighbour had installed CCTV cameras pointed towards the complainant's yard, was taking video captures and sharing footage via WhatsApp, and that the complainant's wife and children were afraid to enter their own yard. Following a police site visit, it was found that none of the two cameras were capturing images inside the complainant's premises, with the respondent stating cameras were installed as a theft deterrent. The enquiry was closed under section 6 of the Data Protection Act 2017.
