The facts

The complainant alleged a neighbour installed CCTV cameras pointed towards his yard, captured videos of him and shared them via WhatsApp, leaving his wife and children afraid to use their own yard. The Police found neither of the respondent's two cameras captured images inside the complainant's premises and that they had been installed after a past theft.

Orders and outcome

The Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the Data Protection Act 2017.
