Summary

The complainant alleged that the neighbour had installed CCTV cameras capturing images inside the complainant's premises. The Police conducted a site visit and found that the cameras had been lowered to capture images only within the respondent's compound; the complainant also verbally indicated a wish not to proceed further as the neighbour had already taken remedial action. The enquiry was closed to the satisfaction of all parties with a finding that no breach of the Data Protection Act had occurred.
