The facts

The complainant alleged that his neighbour installed CCTV cameras facing his gate and the common entrance, invading his privacy. A police site visit found the five cameras showed the respondent's own outside staircase, the front of his premises, his garage and the rear of his premises, with none capturing images inside the complainant's premises.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the Act's complaints procedure.
