The facts

The complainant wrote in Kreol that a neighbour had put up a camera aimed into her yard, that the neighbour had promised to redirect it but two months later it remained in place, and that the neighbour watched her yard daily, leaving her no privacy. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit, which found the respondent's CCTV camera was not taking images of the complainant's premises, as a previous Police report had also confirmed.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the DPA.
