The facts

The complainant alleged that his neighbour had installed CCTV cameras pointing towards his house, two of them towards his stairs, one towards his in-laws' bedroom and one towards his own bedroom and living room. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit, which found that the footage captured no images inside the complainant's premises and that all cameras were fixed to focus only inside the respondent's own premises.

Orders and outcome

The Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the Data Protection Act.
