Summary

The complainant alleged that his neighbour had affixed CCTV cameras pointing directly at his backyard and two bedroom windows, invading his family's privacy. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit; the Police reported the cameras were inclined towards the ground and captured no images inside the complainant's premises. The Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under section 6 of the Data Protection Act.
