Summary

The complainant alleged that the respondent had installed a CCTV camera in the communal area of a shared property, pointing at the complainant's bedroom, balcony, part of the living room, and a communal pathway, without consent and causing concerns including possible thermal imaging and a permanent blinding light. Following police site visits, the camera had been lowered on its pole and a second visit found that all cameras at the respondent's premises were out of order with damaged and disconnected cables. The enquiry was closed with a finding that no breach of the Data Protection Act had occurred.
