Summary

The complainant alleged that the respondent neighbour had installed three CCTV cameras pointing towards the complainant's premises, with the potential to capture images inside the complainant's house. Police conducted site visits and found two cameras were initially not re-oriented; after the matter was referred to police for further investigation and possible referral to the Director of Public Prosecutions, the respondent eventually re-oriented all cameras and no images were being captured inside the complainant's premises. The enquiry was closed under section 6 of the Data Protection Act.
