The facts

The complainant alleged his neighbour's cameras pointed towards his premises and recorded images from inside his property. A Police site visit found both cameras captured images solely within the respondent's premises. The complainant objected to the closure, so the Office required the respondent to attend a meeting and submit a further statement with CCTV footage, which established the cameras do not capture the complainant's premises.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the enquiry provisions of the Data Protection Act 2017.
