The facts

The complainant alleged that her neighbour had placed CCTV cameras facing her private path, violating her family's privacy. She did not return the official complaint forms. A police site visit found the cameras had been lowered so as to capture images only within the respondent's compound, and the complainant stated she did not wish to proceed as the neighbour had already done the needful.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties, holding that no breach of the Data Protection Act had occurred.
