Summary

The complainant alleged that the respondent, a neighbour, had installed CCTV cameras pointing towards the complainant's premises, amounting to an invasion of privacy. The Data Protection Office requested police assistance and a site visit was conducted. The police found that none of the cameras were oriented towards or recording inside the complainant's premises and that there was no evidence prejudicial to the complainant. The enquiry was closed under section 6 of the Data Protection Act.
