The facts

The complainant wrote in French that a neighbour opposite his land had installed at least six sensor-triggered CCTV cameras trained on his property, refused repeated requests to redirect them, and threatened property-damage and theft cases against the family if the complainant interfered or sought their removal. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit, which found all cameras displaying images within the owner's own premises.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the DPA.
