The facts

The complainant alleged his neighbour installed CCTV including a 360-degree fish-eye camera next to his bedroom, that three fixed cameras intruded on his property, that night vision disturbed his family, and that no signage was displayed. A police site visit found only eight cameras operational and connected to the respondent's mobile phone, none capturing the complainant's premises; of the three disputed cameras the fish-eye was not connected and the other two viewed only the respondent's own rear yard.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the Act's complaints procedure.
