The facts

The complainant alleged his neighbour had installed a CCTV camera opposite his door entrance, violating his privacy. The respondent initially denied the Police access, and the Office requested alternative Police procedures and a second site visit, which found the cameras captured images only inside the respondent's yard and terrace and at no point inside the complainant's premises.

Orders and outcome

The Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties, finding that no breach of the Data Protection Act had occurred.
