Summary

The complainant alleged that his neighbour's CCTV camera pointed towards the road causing prejudice to him and his family. Investigation found that two of four cameras captured pavement and road areas; the respondent, represented by a barrister, argued legitimate security interest as a widow and submitted that the cameras could not be repositioned. After Police site visits confirmed that cameras had been adjusted and did not capture images within the complainant's premises, the Commissioner found no breach of the Data Protection Act and closed the enquiry.
