The facts

The complainant lodged an email complaint that her neighbour had installed a CCTV camera pointing towards her compound, which she said violated her privacy and made her uncomfortable. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit. The Police found that none of the eight cameras fixed at the respondent's premises captured inside the complainant's premises.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the DPA.
