The facts

The complainant alleged that his neighbour installed CCTV cameras pointing towards his residence and collecting data on his family's movements. A police site visit found that of the seven cameras installed only four were functioning, that the cameras facing the complainant's residence were not operational, and that none captured images inside his premises.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the Act's complaints procedure.
