The facts

The complainant alleged that his neighbour had installed surveillance cameras in shared areas without visible signage, raising privacy concerns. A Police site visit recorded the respondent's statement that, despite ongoing disagreements between the neighbours, the cameras were not capturing images inside the complainant's premises.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the enquiry provisions of the Data Protection Act 2017.
