The facts

The complainant wrote in Kreol that a neighbour had installed two cameras, one covering her main entrance, had refused Police requests to remove it, and had threatened to post video of her sister online, leaving the family feeling under surveillance and harassed. The Data Protection Office asked the Police to investigate and conduct a site visit, which found no evidence prejudicial to the complainant and that the two cameras were installed for security purposes.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the DPA.
