Anonymised respondent
Enquiry closed under section 6 (resolved to the satisfaction of all parties). DPO, 22 June 2020.
The facts
The complainant booked and personally paid for a trip for himself and a friend, and alleged that the travel agency sent the whole trip details to various persons in his company without his consent. The agency explained that the booking had gone through the corporate channel so the travel details were sent to designated officers, and took remedial action to avoid recurrence. The complainant provided no evidence of detriment and did not pursue the matter further.
Orders and outcome
The Data Protection Commissioner found no offence committed under the Data Protection Act, noting the respondent's diligent remedial action, and closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties.
