The facts

The complainant, who had agreed to receive local promotional information only, complained of frequent unsolicited promotional SMS messages from the respondent's foreign operations, often late at night and with no immediate opt-out. The Office had her details removed from the promotional list, and she confirmed the messages stopped. The respondent set out three opt-out options available and confirmed measures for other people in Mauritius who do not want foreign promotional messages.

Orders and outcome

With satisfactory remedial measures implemented, no offence was found and the enquiry was successfully closed.
