The facts

Complainants alleged that the respondent placed CCTV cameras monitoring a common road used by the public. The Office opened an immediate enquiry, told the respondent that surveillance must capture images only within his premises, and verified on site visits that the cameras had been refocused within the respondent's premises and a warning sign displayed at the entrance. The complainants declared themselves satisfied.

Orders and outcome

No offence was found under the Data Protection Act.
