The facts

An accountant suspended from her post at a government body since February 2017, who had taken employment as finance manager at another government body, complained that both bodies disclosed her personal information without her consent after her new employer asked her to explain the circumstances of her earlier suspension, prompting her resignation.

Orders and outcome

The Data Protection Commissioner held that the disclosure had a lawful basis in compliance with the Act and that no breach had been found.
