Anonymised respondent (company)
Corrective measures taken; enquiry closed. DPO, 26 June 2019.
The facts
A client alleged the company disclosed his personal data by emailing his private details, including arrears and instalments, to another person's email address. The company said the client's email address had been taken down by phone, apologised to him, and adopted corrective measures: clients now use the company's own email contact for account requests, and attachments with confidential data are encrypted and password-protected. The complainant did not respond to a request to show how the disclosure was detrimental.
Orders and outcome
In view of the corrective measures taken to avoid repetition, the enquiry was closed.
