The facts

An anonymous complaint, channelled through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation on 25 September 2015, alleged that a company's IT administrator had hacked a colleague's email, forwarded a private message to her husband, and boasted he would do the same to other employees. The employee whose email was allegedly hacked stated she was not aware of any hacking or of the insinuations, and management confirmed it knew nothing of the anonymous allegations.

Orders and outcome

With the supposed victim and the employer both disclaiming the allegations, the Commissioner found no offence committed under the Data Protection Act.
