The facts

The complainant alleged that Platinum Credit Limited persistently contacted him with unsolicited promotional calls and messages although he is not a customer of the respondent and never consented to such communication. The ODPC found the respondent failed to uphold his rights and processed his personal data for commercial purposes without consent.

The respondent was found liable and ordered to compensate the complainant KES 250,000, the Office taking into account the nature and extent of the violation and the respondent's conduct. Dated 16 December 2025.
