The facts
The complainant alleged that a camera fixed by his brother, who lives opposite, violated his privacy. A police site visit found sixteen CCTV cameras, ten operational, with two pointing at the main entrance on the common road and two dummy cameras on the roof. The respondent was advised to readjust cameras capturing the complainant's premises; on re-examination the two cameras had been repositioned and the dummy cameras removed.
Orders and outcome
The Data Protection Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under the closure provision of the Data Protection Act.
