The facts

The complainant stated that RhinoCash and Mula Loan App were sending him messages naming him as an emergency contact for a number he had no connection to. Investigations found the mobile numbers that contacted him did not belong to Mulla Pride Limited. The Office noted the respondent derailed investigations and is a repeat offender that had deliberately obstructed investigations into a similar complaint.

Orders and outcome

The complaint was dismissed, and a recommendation for prosecution was made against the respondent company's directors for obstruction of the Data Commissioner. Dated 30 May 2024.
