The facts

The complainant alleged that Azura Credit Limited repeatedly contacted him by email demanding that he engage with an unknown individual over an unpaid loan allegedly issued by the respondent, despite his having no prior knowledge of or involvement with it. The ODPC found the respondent failed to fulfil its obligations under the Act.

Orders and outcome

The respondent was found liable, ordered to delete the complainant's personal data from its systems, stop contacting him and provide proof to the Office within 7 days, and an enforcement notice was issued against it. Dated December 2024.
