Anonymised respondent (employer)
No breach found; enquiry closed. DPO, 18 October 2018.
The facts
An ex-employee alleged that someone had accessed the Dropbox account linked to her personal email through her ex-employer's PC, which was still receiving her personal and professional documents. The respondent provided detailed explanations, and the complainant, asked to submit concrete evidence in writing, did not respond.
Orders and outcome
After analysis of the evidence and the respondent's explanations, no breach of the Data Protection Act was detected and the enquiry was closed, the Commissioner noting that more concrete proof from the complainant would have allowed a fuller determination.
