The facts

An ex-employee alleged unauthorised access to and disclosure of his retirement pension information by his former employer and a fellow employee, naming nine respondents in all. The company denied the allegations, suggesting the complaint was made to bring it into disrepute, and statements collected from the staff concerned all denied disclosing the complainant's personal data.

Orders and outcome

Finding no evidence that the retirement pension documents were unlawfully disclosed to anyone not entitled to receive them, and no bad faith in the handling of the pension information, the Commissioner closed the enquiry.
