Two consolidated complaints alleged that representatives of AsapKash, a product of Zerox Technology Company Limited, were calling and messaging the complainants demanding repayment of loans they never took, with the first complainant told she would be held accountable for a third party's loan. The Office found the respondent collected the complainants' contacts from its clients without prior authority, without informing them of the collection or its debt-recovery purpose, and did not collect the data directly from them.
Orders and outcome
The respondent was found liable and an enforcement notice was ordered to issue against it. Dated September 2023.
