Three former employees and beneficiaries of the Oceana Group Black Employee Share Trust requested access to information about the trust. The trust disclosed some records but refused others, arguing the requesters had not shown the information was needed to exercise or protect their rights. The Information Regulator set that decision aside.

Enforcement notice directing the trust to release the up-to-date list of beneficiaries and all documents relating to the sourcing of R292m, including any agreements and documents on loans or capital contributions. Announced at the Regulator's November 2025 briefing.
