Acting on a report that a phone number collected during electoral sponsorship (parrainage) operations was later used for political prospecting, Senegal's CDP found unlawful and excessive data collection, diversion of the sponsorship data's purpose and excessive retention, and its plenary session pronounced a warning (avertissement) against Mr Lat Diop, who is named in the CDP's published Avis. The CDP announced a general deliberation on political prospecting addressed to political actors. Reported in Avis Trimestriel N°03-2022; the decision date is recorded at quarter-end precision.
