A member of the public reported receiving political prospecting messages. The sender explained that his database, built essentially from phone numbers collected during electoral sponsorships, could have included the reporter's wife's number. The CDP found unlawful and excessive collection of personal data, diversion of the sponsorship data from its purpose, and excessive retention.
Orders and outcome
The plenary pronounced a warning against Lat Diop. The Commission also announced a deliberation of general application on political prospecting, to be widely circulated to political leaders and actors. Dated 2022.
