The facts

In its first-quarter 2016 avis, the CDP refused to issue a declaration receipt to ABDXMEDIA for its website processing involving participants' images, citing unfair collection of personal data harvested from web pages and social networks, the absence of prior information to the persons concerned about the collection and its purpose, and commercial prospecting emails sent in violation of direct-marketing requirements. The refusal was recorded in deliberation 2016-00302/CDP of the plenary session of 19 February 2016.

Orders and outcome

The CDP placed ABDXMEDIA on formal notice (mise en demeure) to bring its processing into compliance with the data protection law.
