Summary

The complainant, a coffee shop owner, alleged that two cameras installed by a neighbouring business were pointed at the coffee shop and a pathway to the toilet, with no signs informing customers of recording, causing discomfort and affecting business. A Police site visit found one camera facing the complainant's premises; after being informed of the complaint, the respondent had a technician cover the questioned camera, removing the complainant's premises from view. The enquiry was closed with a finding that no breach of the Data Protection Act had occurred.
