Summary

The complainant alleged that her co-tenant, who is also the house owner, had installed a 360-degree CCTV camera with audio and recording features directed towards areas she uses both commonly and exclusively, which she considered an intrusion on her privacy. The Police verified the positioning of the cameras and confirmed they were directed towards common areas only, without capturing images from inside tenants' rooms. The Commissioner closed the enquiry to the satisfaction of all parties under section 6 of the DPA 2017.
