Anonymised respondent (press)
No breach established; personal-data scope holding. DPO, 24 January 2019.
Summary
A college complained about allegedly false and malicious press reporting. The Commissioner applied the Data Protection Act 2017's definition of personal data - 'any information relating to a data subject' - and found no breach could be established, an early scope holding on the 2017 Act and press content.
