The facts

The complainant alleged that one of the respondent's CCTV cameras recorded the entrance of his shop and monitored everything that happened around it. The Office told the respondent that cameras must capture images only within his own premises and be signposted, and asked for one camera to be removed. Site visits verified that corrective action was taken.

Orders and outcome

No offence was found under the Data Protection Act after the corrective measures were verified.
