The facts

The complainant alleged that Kings Commodities Limited unlawfully continued to display his mobile phone number on its website as its contact detail despite his objection and request for erasure. The respondent failed to respond to the ODPC's Notification of Complaint and did not attend the scheduled site visit; the Office found it had failed to honour the complainant's right to object.

Orders and outcome

The respondent was found liable and ordered to pay the complainant KES 250,000 as compensation, and an enforcement notice was issued for the failure to respond to the Notification of Complaint and to attend the scheduled site visit. Dated 13 January 2026.
