The facts

The complainant alleged that the respondent Sacco unlawfully used his image and likeness in promotional posters for a loan product named Jiendeleze loan without his consent. He sought compensation and an order restraining the respondent from publishing his image in its advertisements, social media and website. The ODPC found the respondent did not obtain consent to use his personal data for commercial gain.
