The facts

The complainant alleged that in about November 2022 a loan of KES 1,368,500 was irregularly applied for and attached to her payslip by Kenya Women Microfinance Bank without her knowledge, consent or any prior relationship with the bank. The ODPC found violations of her right to be informed and her right of access.

The respondent was found liable, ordered to pay the complainant Kenya Shillings Five Hundred Thousand (KES 500,000) as compensation, and an enforcement notice was issued against it. Dated August 2025.
