The facts

The complainant alleged Mulla Pride Limited, trading as KE Credit, unlawfully obtained his salary information, sent him threatening messages and calls even after loan repayments were made, tracked his location and his child's, to the extent of monitoring school drop-offs, and sent marketing messages without consent. The Office found the respondent liable, noted it is a repeat offender found liable for similar violations in several other complaints, and recorded that it obstructed the Data Commissioner by keeping its premises closed on the day of the scheduled site visit.

Orders and outcome

The respondent was directed to delete the complainant's details from its records and database and provide proof within seven days of receipt of the determination, and an enforcement notice was issued against it. Dated 9 April 2024.
