The facts

The complainants, legal guardians of a minor, complained about the respondent's commentary on his LinkedIn platform on an extract of court documents that contained the minor's personal data. The ODPC found there was a violation of the Act but took into account the respondent's prompt deletion of the post, which also removed all reposts, likes, responses and comments, and his mitigation steps.

Orders and outcome

The complaint was marked resolved; the request for compensation was denied because the respondent took prompt action to remove the post. The determination was directed to be brought to the attention of the High Court in Civil Case No. E094 of 2023. Dated 27 November 2023.
