Summary

The High Court of Kenya adopted a July 2025 ODPC compensation determination of KES 250,000 against Africa International University as an order of the court, under sections 64 and 65 of the Data Protection Act 2019. The ruling establishes the enforcement pathway for ODPC awards: a data subject can convert a determination into a court order carrying full execution machinery. The KES 250,000 is the underlying ODPC award (Complaint No. 0590 of 2025) and is not counted twice in tracker statistics.
