The facts

A control of Microcred Cote d'Ivoire (Baobab) found new unauthorised processing including the business software T24, TUNE LOAN, BAOBAB TUNE MOBILE and ONE LOGIN, third-party software such as TALENT SOFT and JIRA, and the creation and launch of the MYBAOBAB application, none of which had the prior authorisation required for identifier processing. Earlier recommendations on its procedures had not been implemented.

Orders and outcome

The Autorite de Protection issued a warning for non-compliance with the data protection law and a formal notice to cease all observed breaches within sixty days of receiving the decision, and required the company to designate a data protection correspondent. Dated 8 June 2023.
