A control of Ecobank Cote d'Ivoire found breaches of the conformity and prior-authorisation obligations of the data protection law, including identifier processing operated without the required authorisation of the Autorite de Protection and an incomplete conformity process.
Orders and outcome
The Autorite de Protection issued a warning for non-compliance with the data protection law and a formal notice to cease the observed breaches within sixty days of receiving the decision, failing which one of the further measures provided by the law would be pronounced. Dated 8 June 2023.
